Shortly after giving birth to our first child, I asked Matt to hurry to the grocery store and bring me home something to eat. (I was ravenous. And crazy, but that’s another story.) He brought home my favorite food: a salmon fillet. Only we had a fussy newborn, so the fish went bad before we had a chance to cook it.

Now we order Zingerman’s gift baskets for friends with new babies. Their slogan should be, “Delicious food you can eat with one hand.” Because really that’s what all new moms need.

And here’s The Kitchen Pantry Scientist + my bid to win a trip to Italy, courtesy of Zingerman’s. (She wrote the jingle; the kids + I can’t get it out of our heads. Can you?)

So, if you’ve got two hands, please rate it for us. We’d love to win their contest and spend a week touring Italian wineries.
